چکیده

Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) is one of the important parameters to characterize physical properties atmospheric aerosol, which used describe extinction characteristics and also calculate aerosol content, assess degree air pollution study climate effect. To historical change in long-time series, advanced very high resolution radiometer (AVHRR) data earliest for research was this study. Due lack shortwave infrared (SWIR) (center at 2.13 µm) sensor, relationship between blue red bands with SWIR cannot be provided, visible band normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) contains wavelength range green, it difficult accurate land surface reflectance (LSR). Therefore, based on Dense Dark Vegetation algorithm (DDV), we propose introduce mature MODIS products (MYD13) correct AVHRR NDVI, support estimation LSR, determine corrected NDVI carry out retrieval. The results show that about 63% are within error line, there a consistent distribution trend inter-comparison validation (MYD04).

An Algorithm for the Retrieval of Aerosol Optical Depth from Geostationary Satellite Data in Thailand

An algorithm was developed to estimate aerosol optical depth (AOD) from geostationary satellite data. The 6S radiative transfer computer code was employed to generate a look-up table (LUT) which incorporates several combinations of satellite-derived variables including earthatmospheric reflectivity, atmospheric reflectivity and surface albedo. The parameterization of the satellite-derived atmos...

An Improved Aerosol Optical Depth Retrieval Algorithm for Moderate to High Spatial Resolution Optical Remotely Sensed Imagery

To extract quantitative land information accurately and monitor the air pollution at city scale from moderate to high spatial resolution (MHSR) with a resolution no coarser than 30 m, optical remotely sensed imagery and aerosol parameters, especially aerosol optical depth (AOD), are a necessary step. In this paper, we introduce a new algorithm that can effectively estimate the spatial distribut...

Retrieval of aerosol optical depth under thin cirrus from MODIS: Application to an ocean algorithm

[1] A strategy for retrieving aerosol optical depth (AOD) under conditions of thin cirrus coverage from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) is presented. We adopt an empirical method that derives the cirrus contribution to measured reflectance in seven bands from the visible to shortwave infrared (0.47, 0.55, 0.65, 0.86, 1.24, 1.63, and 2.12 μm, commonly used for AOD retri...

Interference of Heavy Aerosol Loading on the VIIRS Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) Retrieval Algorithm

Aerosol optical depth (AOD) has been widely used in climate research, atmospheric environmental observations, and other applications. However, high AOD retrieval remains challenging over heavily polluted regions, such as the North China Plain (NCP). The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS), which was designed as a successor to the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODI...

Aerosol Optical Depth over Europe - Retrieval from Atsr-2 Data for the Year

Aerosol properties are retrieved from ATSR-2 data (ERS2 satellite) by utilizing the dual view for application over land and the single view for application over water. These two algorithms have been merged into a fast and efficient algorithm that allows for near real-time processing and which is suitable for operational use. It includes corrections for surface and atmospheric effects including ...
